Omnicell Illuminate 2021 is in the books. We hope you found it to be a truly inspiring and illuminating experience and came away with new ideas and insights to transform your medication management strategy.

Omnicell is proud to host this annual event to bring the medication management industry together to focus on the purpose-driven journey to the Autonomous Pharmacy. More than 1,100 leaders from pharmacy, nursing, IT, and the C-Suite joined us to learn more about ways technology and intelligence are transforming medication management. We had the opportunity to share best practices, experience technology in action through interactive demos, and hear engaging keynotes. Together we rallied around the shared goal to achieve zero waste, zero errors, and free pharmacists to spend more quality time on patient care.

Here are some highlights from this year’s event.

Thank you to the more than 50 healthcare industry leaders and experts who shared their personal experiences with pharmacy transformation, including best practices and insights on leveraging technology and intelligence to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase staff efficiency.

We were excited to shine a spotlight on essential issues, like supporting the mental health needs of healthcare workers and the challenges women face in healthcare leadership. We explored medication management issues, including IV and medication safety, leveraging data and machine learning to mitigate diversion, optimizing pharmacy supply chain management, advancing population health initiatives, and driving value and compliance for 340B program management.

Leaders from Wellforce, UnityPoint, Advocate Aurora Health, and Bon Secours Mercy Health System joined Randall Lipps, Chairman, President, CEO, and Founder of Omnicell, to deliver the main keynote on how COVID-19 has changed the way healthcare does business. These conversations also illustrated that pharmacy care delivery will need to undergo a radical transformation.

Guest keynote George Blankenship, former executive at Tesla, Apple, and GAP, gave an inspirational speech on staying ahead of the game with customers. He shared examples from his experience with innovative companies that are leading transformation today.

Attendees got a preview of Omnicell’s strategic map, and how connected devices, pharmacy intelligence, intelligent workflows, robotics, and expert services are helping to improve quality, reduce costs, and boost human productivity in healthcare. EVP and Chief Commercial Officer Scott Seidelmann was joined by Denise Cox, SVP and Chief Customer Officer, and Jeff Schlossnagle, SVP and Chief Growth Officer, for an overview of Omnicell’s commitment to deliver solutions developed through a Continual Innovation Loop that will drive this intelligent infrastructure in the future.

Attendees of this year's event explored the Innovation Lounge and went deeper into Omnicell's solution portfolio. We even carved out some time for wellness, with meditation and stretching breaks.

By understanding shared experiences, learning best practices, and participating in workshops at Omnicell Illuminate 2021, we strengthened relationships and the opportunity to move toward the shared goal of zero-error pharmacy.

I want to thank everyone who came together to make this event a success. With so many exciting developments happening in healthcare, it’s important that we continue these conversations to collectively elevate the role of pharmacy and medication management as we move closer to achieving the fully Autonomous Pharmacy. Thank you for joining us on this journey and can’t wait to see you again next year for Omnicell Illuminate 2022.
