Omnicell, Inc. (NASDAQ:OMCL) today announced the appointment of Joanne Bauer, president of global Health Care at Kimberly-Clark, to its board of directors and as a member of the Corporate Governance Committee of the board. Her role will be effective January 1, 2014. Ms. Bauer brings diverse experiences that include strategic planning, international business management, and mergers and acquisitions to the board to provide insight on leadership and product matters.
“A recognized and respected leader in the health care sector, Joanne will bring valuable strategic counsel to our board. Ms. Bauer leads multispecialty businesses across the pain management, respiratory, digestive health and infection prevention sectors. She joined Kimberly-Clark in 1981 and has held various marketing and management positions within its adult care and health care businesses. She was elected president of Kimberly-Clark’s global health care business in 2006, where she is responsible for a variety of surgical and infection prevention products and medical devices.
Ms. Bauer served on the board of directors for Medivance, Inc., a startup medical device company that was sold to BARD in October of 2011. She currently serves on the executive committee of the board of directors for MedShare, an Atlanta based non-profit organization, and the board of directors of AdvaMed—the Advanced Medical Technology Association.
“As our hospitals and health systems rely more on technology to improve efficiency and patient care, Omnicell offers the right approach and technologies to help these organizations achieve their goals,” said Ms. Bauer. “I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute my insights and experiences to help guide such an important health care innovator as Omnicell.”
