Everyone knows diversion is a major challenge in today’s health care environment, but not everyone knows how to confidently detect, manage, and prevent diversion incidents. Omnicell is proud to announce a four-part webinar series on Diversion Management with special guest Kimberly New.
Kimberly New, JD, BSN, RN
Kimberly New serves as a consultant on controlled substance security and regulatory compliance to health care facilities across the country. Kim has a BS in Nursing from Wichita State University, and a JD from Washburn University School of Law. She is the President of the Tennessee Chapter of the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI), and a health care facility liaison to the NADDI Executive Board. Kim is a frequent author and national speaker on the subject of health facility diversion. She has been featured in USA Today, and has served as a guest author for the CDC Safe Healthcare blog as well at the DHHS aids.gov blog.
Nobody expects diversion to happen at their hospital, and when it does, it can be a complex challenge to confront. Kim New and other special guests discuss how to effectively manage diversion incidents when they occur. The priorities are to minimize risk, protect patient safety, and help rehabilitate the diverter.
Register for this webinar recording to learn from the experience of Kim New, who has extensive experience assisting facilities with starting and refining their drug diversion programs, with a goal of protecting patients from the harm that is frequently associated with diversion.
