One of Omnicell's solutions for the central pharmacy, the SecureVault system enables hospital pharmacies to close the loop on the process of managing controlled substances. The SecureVault software, coupled with automated dispensing technology from Omnicell, enables the pharmacy to track, monitor, and control the movement of controlled substances from a central vault to one or many locations. The system's benefits include compliance with regulatory standards, increased efficiency for the pharmacy, and improved administrative decision-making.

Closed-Loop System
By tracking controlled substance receipt from the wholesaler and throughout the internal distribution network, the SecureVault system provides tight control at all points of the process. SecureVault automatically ensures that all receipts, issues, and return transactions are completed properly. Automated Omnicell cabinet restock management using guiding light technology improves the speed and accuracy of the remote restock process.

Computerized Perpetual Inventory
With its bar code support of all transactions, the SecureVault solution makes receiving, issuing, returning, and wasting medications on the system an easy task. The system maintains a perpetual item inventory and complete audit trail for easy discrepancy resolution and saves valuable pharmacy time.

Bar Code Technology
SecureVault uses integrated barcode technology to improve the speed and accuracy of data capture. The system supports manufacturer product bar codes and industry-standard bar codes with fixed and portable scanners. Bar-coded forms and labels may also be generated directly from the SecureVault system.
