Hennepin County Medical Center to Add Latest Patient Safety Technology, Narcotics Control Management Software

MINNEAPOLIS – March 11, 2005 – Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), ranked as one of America’s best hospitals, announced today the purchase of Omnicell, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMCL) patient safety technology for the central pharmacy and nursing units throughout the medical center.

OmniRx® medication dispensing cabinets will be installed throughout the medical center and emergency department. The hospital’s central pharmacy will install Omnicell SecureVault™ software, enhancing the ability to track, monitor and control the movement of controlled substances from a central vault to one or many locations, resulting in improved compliance with regulatory standards, increased efficiency for the pharmacy, and improved administrative decision-making.
