Since founding Omnicell in 1992, Randall A. Lipps, chairman, president and chief executive officer, has built the company into a successful, publicly traded healthcare information technology corporation focused on improving patient safety through more efficient healthcare delivery. What began as a personal quest into the inefficiencies of healthcare delivery after watching his newborn daughter endure a traumatic health experience has developed into a company focused on patient safety with over $200 million in revenue.
For the first ten years of Omnicell’s existence, Mr. Lipps served as chairman of the board of directors and guided Omnicell on a path to success. In 1998, Omnicell was recognized as the number one company in Silicon Valley in the Deloitte and Touche Technology Fast 500 program. Under Mr. Lipps’ guidance and leadership, Omnicell became a publicly traded company in August of 2001. In October 2002, Mr. Lipps assumed the additional roles of president and chief executive officer and has since provided the leadership for Omnicell's growth in providing solutions to help increase patient safety, including five acquisitions.
Prior to founding Omnicell, Mr. Lipps was an industrial engineer at American Airlines. Mr. Lipps holds bachelors degrees in economics and business administration from Southern Methodist University. |
