About Omnicell and our Commitment to Privacy Protection

Omnicell provides solutions to automate the medication-use process and medical-surgical supply chain in the healthcare industry. In connection with the distribution, maintenance and management of the products and services provided by Omnicell to our customers, Omnicell collects certain customer information. We are committed to protecting our customers' information. What type of information does Omnicell collect about you?

In connection with our Internet-based electronic requisition and procurement (or e-commerce) solution for the healthcare industry, we solicit and collect the following types of information:

  • Certain information from healthcare facility customers or healthcare suppliers, including financial information, billing and contact information (such as name, e-mail address), purchasing requirements, etc.; and
  • Certain third-party information, including computer programs used, client and vendor information, etc.

Your information may be shared with our agents or contractors in connection with services that such individuals or entities perform for Omnicell. We solicit only information that our providers or we have a legitimate need to know to perform legitimate duties for our customers.

What other types of information does Omnicell collect?

Omnicell may collect information about you that is not personally identifiable, such as the type of internet browser or computer operating system you are using and the domain name of the Web site from which you linked to our site or advertisement. We do not collect personally identifiable information automatically, but we may tie information collected automatically to your previously submitted personally identifiable information by using cookies.

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes his or her browser, the cookie simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a user rejects the cookie, he or she may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. How does Omnicell use the information we collect?

Omnicell uses customer contact information from the registration form to send you information about our company and to contact you when necessary. We may store and process your personally identifiable information to better understand your needs and how we may improve our products and services. We may also enhance or merge personally identifiable information with data obtained from third parties for the same purposes.

How does Omnicell protect the information we collect?

Omnicell will not give or sell your personally identifiable information to any outside organization for the organization's own use without your consent, although we may provide certain information to affiliated or potentially affiliated companies. We will not divulge, release, sell, loan, alter, or destroy any customer information except as properly authorized within the scope of our activities as a provider of services to customers.

Omnicell will promptly notify you and obtain a new password if we suspect or discover a breach of any password security. Do not lose or share your user ID or password. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your use of your user account.
